I just got back from the Marathon Expo.  Wow, there were A LOT of people there!  I suppose I should have expected that….after all there are about 45,000 people running the NYC Marathon this weekend.  But, somehow I had the idea in my mind that I could zip over to the expo during lunch, pick up my packet, take a quick spin around and maybe find myself a cute shirt or jacket, and be in & out of there in a half hour, 45 minutes tops.  Ha!  Not even close.  I walked in to find myself getting parked at the end of the longest line I’ve ever seen.  Think Newark Airport security line, an airport immigration line, the check out line when you’re shopping 2 days before Christmas…those lines have on this registration line.  I will admit, it did move quite fast and was remarkably organized.  Once inside there was a sea of people and I quickly remembered how much I hate large crowds of people.  I thought hitting the expo during the workday was a good idea because since I was pressed for time it gave me little chance to spend an excessive amount of money on running.  I did get myself one really cute, bright pink, long sleeve dry fit shirt.  I think I spent more time waiting on lines, than I spent cabbing it to and from the expo and browsing around.  Just feeling the excitement in the air made it totally worth it though!!

For weeks it’s felt like this race was so far off & wasn’t actually going to get here, and now that it’s nearly here it doesn’t feel real.  I feel giddy and ridiculously excited!  I have friends and supporters and running teammates who will all be dotted throughout the course and I can’t wait to see them all.

Now that I think about it, I’ve had oatmeal for breakfast everyday this week.  Good stuff.  As you can see I’m sort of a creature of habit.  This morning I also topped my Maple Pecan Oatmeal with diced pear and a sprinkle of ginger.  So tasty & delicious!!  I highly recommend it!
