Nee Coffee Dripper Review and Giveaway

Is there any better way to start Monday morning than with a steamy mug of coffee….oh, and a giveaway.  I didn’t think so!

I love coffee.  More acurately, I love good coffee.  And, I might be a little particular about my coffee.  So needless to say, when the folks over at Nee Coffee told me they wanted to send me their Coffee Dripper to try out, I was pumped!

Oh wait, but it gets better!  Nee Coffee wants to give one of you lucky coffee drinkers a Dripper to try, as well!

I’m kind of new to pour over coffee, but I have to say it’s very quickly winning me over!

Nee Coffee Dripper Review and Giveaway

If you’re a one-cup of coffee kinda person, heck even if you’re a two-cup kinda person, making pour over coffee is a lot easier than busting out the coffee maker.  One of the biggest surprises to me was how quickly pour over coffee brews.  Before trying it I had the misconception that this process took a while, or at least  more time than I was willing to devote in the morning….I was so wrong!  Not only that, the clean up takes about two seconds, and the coffee dripper is dishwasher safe.

Here’s how it works

Nee Coffee Dripper Review and GiveawayStep 1: Add cold water to a kettle (enough for your coffee, plus some extra to rinse the paper filter prior to brewing) and bring to a boil.  Remove the kettle from the heat and let it cool for 30 seconds.

Step 2: Place the coffee dripper on the mug (fun fact: porcelain droppers are great because they retain heat well).

Step 3: Place the paper cone filter (I use #2 size filters) inside the dripper.  Rinse the paper filter and mug by pouring boiling water over the filter – this helps to preheat the dripper and mug, while removing any pepper taste.  Pour out the water inside the mug.

Step 4: Pour fresh ground coffee evenly into the filter – about 2 tablespoons per serving, maybe a little extra if it’s a rough morning

Step 5: Pour water slowly into the center and then outwards towards the edges of the dripper in a circular motion to evenly wet all the grounds.  Allow 30 seconds for the grounds to bloom before continuing.

I looooove a cup of delicious black coffee in the morning! We’ve been using a french press lately or our Keurig if we’re in a hurry. Always exciting to try new ways of making my favorite beverage.

This is perfect for afternoons when I want some coffee, but not a whole pot. Also great for when the electricity is out or the electric coffee maker suddenly dies (the horror!).
